Good Morning Appalachia is run by Joshua and Amber Niven, husband/wife based in the mountains of Western North Carolina.
Joshua is a professional landscape photographer specializing in the Appalachian Trail. Amber is an author and outdoor writer with work featured in Smoky Mountain Living, The Trek, and She Explores. Their guidebooks include Discovering the Appalachian Trail and the forthcoming four-part series Hiking the Appalachian Trail (Falcon Guides, Spring 2026).
They live in Hot Springs, NC with their three kids, where they homestead and homeschool between trail days and creative work.
